GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK
Performs advanced technical work troubleshooting, installing, configuring, integrating, maintaining, and modifying network equipment; does related work as required. Supervises the work of the 1531 Technology Network TECH I position. Additional duties to include basic supervision of staff and/or vendors involved in field projects. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Coordinator of Technology Network Manager.
This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, reaching, standing, waking, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to receive detailed information through oral communications; visual acuity is required for color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside environmental conditions.

Advanced configuring, installing, and maintaining network equipment; providing technical support to users; troubleshooting, repairing, installing, upgrading, and maintaining network software and hardware; preparing and maintaining files and records
Supervises the 1531 Technology Network TECH I position
Installs, maintains, and manages Network Hardware, Software, and other IP equipment
Provides advanced software configuration, installation, and support services
Does advanced configurations of network equipment
Maintain and repair hardware (switches, routers, UPSs)
Trains staff on network equipment
Performs technical support for users
Estimates material and parts needs; orders supplies;
Performs related tasks as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of hardware and software applications in the education environment; Knowledge of network practices and techniques; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, system users and the general public. Ability to stay current on technology issues specific to special education.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
An Associates Degree in Information Technology and/or A+ certified or related experience.
