National Aquatics Director

Join our client’s team as the National Aquatics Director (NAQD)! This position can be based out of Houston, TX; CO; OR; or CA. Our client’s aquatic facility is home to the largest indoor and outdoor pool complex in the area, offering a multitude of adult and youth programs led by trained experts. In this dynamic role, you will not only fulfill the responsibilities of the home club’s Aquatics Director but also help bring their brand promise, service vision, and core values to life. As the NAQD, you will cultivate a high-performance culture that develops, empowers, and recognizes outstanding employees while ensuring five star service and maintaining impeccably clean and safe facilities across all clubs’ Aquatics departments. Your role includes implementing company standards and best practices, overseeing the overall operational and financial management of the Aquatics departments, and providing dotted line supervision to Aquatics Directors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the aquatics risk management program; stay current with best practices, evaluate training needs, and provide ongoing coaching.
• Assist Operational General Managers (OGMs) with interviewing and hiring Aquatics Directors and Swim Coaches.
• Monitor the hiring of guards and swim instructors, taking action as needed.
• Regularly evaluate Aquatics leadership staff performance, discuss with OGMs, and jointly acknowledge, coach, and manage.
• Assist in onboarding new department Directors and Swim Coaches.
• Provide ongoing leadership and mentorship on a dotted•line basis to reach monthly and annual financial goals, as well as department best practices.
• Create, update, and expand the operating manuals and training materials.
• Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies are implemented and regularly monitor compliance. – Ensure all state requirements are met. Manage pool health inspection audits as required.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred
• Must be certified as a Starfish Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, or equivalent
• Must be certified as a Certified Pool Operator
• American Red Cross Aquatic Attraction Lifeguard Certification preferred
Salary Range
$90-$95K, plus 17.5% bonus, and relocation allowance
