Job Description

Job Summary

The Advanced Technology Support Engineer Level 1 job position falls within the Unified Support Team. The Advanced Technology Support Engineer Level 1 primary responsibility is to provide customer support to all existing Bastian Solutions customers. This involves being available 24/7 for support calls (during support rotation), conducting phone troubleshooting, remote dial-in support/troubleshooting, support escalation process, and as necessary on-site support. Ancillary duties include systems drawings and schematics, customer training, debugging issues on-site, ensuring proper project close-out process, and proactive customer check-ups/visits. The individual will work directly with the Support Lead to ensure all customer needs are met promptly as well as to the customer’s complete satisfaction. The individual will work to develop the support program to include post-acceptance support and after-hours support. The individual will work with other Solution Delivery personnel to coordinate and assist in project closeout.

Job Function

Expected to support our Advanced Technology solutions focusing on a single platform as necessitated by the team. These solutions include ASRS Solutions (AutoStore, Swisslog, and Scallog) or Ultra Blue Truck Loader/Unloader, and any future technologies that come into support.

Previous experience with PLC’s, HMI’s and electrical schematics.

First point of contact for all Bastian Solutions support calls and tickets.

Work with Solutions Delivery and Unified Support Manager to operate the 24/7 Support Program

Assist in ensuring all final As-Built documentation is delivered to the customer including all drawings, training materials, and maintenance manuals.

Develop an in-depth understanding of all facets of material handling including equipment, suppliers, and applications.

Timely completion of all reports and logs to include time reports and travel expenses.

Maintain a consistent positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Timely communication of all concerns and issues with the Solutions Delivery/Unified Support Manager

Pursue professional training and certifications.

Demonstrates commitment and passion for Bastian Solutions and our future.

Maintains satisfied customers by resolving issues quickly.

Customer service, satisfaction, and goodwill during implementation and during support (as measured by our customers: Develop a rapport with customers)

Become knowledgeable on equipment, suppliers, and applications.

Willingness to step up and assist other positions within the Systems Group

Consistently communicates with the Solutions Delivery/Unified Support Manager both good news and bad news. Completes task list items on time.

Any and all job duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements:

Travel could be up to 25% at times.

Preferred Skills & Qualification

· AutoStore experience

· PLC and HMI/SCADA

· Demonstrated skills in customer relations

· Excellent technical problem-solving capability (hardware, controls)

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Enjoys helping customers both internal and external to the company

· Hands-on mechanical capabilities

· Experience in the material handling industry
