Description The Arizona Democratic Party’s (ADP) Coordinated Campaign is seeking a Deputy Voter Protection Director to join our statewide program. The Deputy Voter Protection Director will work closely with the Voter Protection Director to implement a comprehensive voter protection plan, ensuring ballot access for all Arizonans in 2024. We are looking for someone with legal and voter protection experience, as well as strong problem solving and communication skills.
Logistics
Salary: Deputy-level salaries are $7,000/month
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Hours: This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and point in the cycle and is likely to require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.
Responsibilities/Duties
Work alongside the Voter Protection Director to develop the voter protection plan
Develop and maintain an understanding of Arizona voting laws and related issues
Monitor for election law legislation and changes as they occur
Build relationships with local party leadership and election officials
Create voter education resources and assist with the facilitation of trainings for staff, volunteers, and voters
Review and quality control external facing campaign materials
Supervise the recruitment and engagement of voter protection staff and volunteers in the implementation of the Voter Protection Plan
Support the priority of both internal and external communication around voter protection in Arizona
Position Requirements Skills & Qualifications
One previous cycle of voter protection experience on a campaign or advocacy organization is preferred
Strong cross team communication and organizational skills in order to support communication with ADP staff, county election officials, and partner organizations
Proven time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in order to meet deadlines
Ability to communicate and facilitate information on election law
Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills and work with other team members
A desire to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and take a solutions oriented approach to unique problems
Proficiency in Microsoft and Google suites
Spanish fluency a plus
