The Paysafe Banking Relationship team is seeking a Director, Banking Relationships covering our banking partners and BIN sponsor banks in the US, Canada and across LATAM for all of our business units—US Acquiring, Digital Wallets and eCash. The team is responsible for the Group’s global relationships with our core banking partners, identifying new banking partners and to drive our strategic initiatives to ensure Paysafe has the strongest possible platforms and solutions for our future needs.
Reporting to the SVP of Banking & Treasury, the right candidate will have a Fintech banking background ideally in Cash Management in transaction banking/services covering Fintechs, in corporate banking, or who has worked at a FinTech managing banking relationships. Relevant experience includes relationship management, with a strong knowledge of bank payments (e.g. ACH, wire), connectivity channels (i.e. SWIFT, API), clearing schemes (i.e. Fedwire, RTP, NACHA), cash management, electronic trading, payment regulations, risk and compliance. An understanding of acquiring, card processing or merchant services would be an additional benefit as would knowledge of alternative payment methods (i.e. Boleto, Interac). Product management and product sales experience is also a benefit. Knowledge of crypto/blockchain is also desirable. This is a people leadership role where you will be leading a banking relationships team based across the Americas region.
Responsible for:
Assisting with driving and delivering the Group’s strategic plan for banking
Standardizing the relationship approach across the Americas region with a focus on evolving the team
Develop and maintain a portfolio of global, Tier 1 and commercial bank relationships across the Americas region, maintaining regular contact with account managers and contacts at each bank
Analyze and target new banking relationships, managing the end-to-end process of bank selection, compliance reviews/approvals, commercial negotiations and implementation/go-live
Prepare external and internal presentations
Conduct regular relationship reviews with our core banks and ensure touch points with all banks
Analyze key changes to banking regulations and legislation which could impact our banking relationships
Maintain overview of banking fees and charges, with an eye towards optimization
Supporting banking projects both internally and externally
Provide ongoing information to the business units of the banking environment and status of relationships as well as key banking activities
Deliver banking requirements across the region against the Chief Banking Officer’s roadmap
Driving SWIFT and API connectivity and capabilities with the banks
Undertake risk assessments of key markets, countries and banks
Experience & Requirements:
Minimum of 8 years working within the banking, acquiring/processing, payments or FinTech industry
Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in the field of Finance, Accounting or Economics or related financial or analytical discipline is a plus
Proactive and energetic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of bank systems, clearing landscape and electronic trading platforms, including SWIFT
International business exposure, ideally at a global top-tier bank
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines set both internally and externally
Ability to work autonomously/remotely and as part of a global team
Ability to adapt to an entrepreneurial culture with a matrix reporting structure
Excellent communications and negotiations skills
Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Product management or product sales experience is desirable as well as crypto/blockchain knowledge
Ability to travel across the region, as needed
