About the opportunity
As the Contentful Director, Strategic Technology Partners,you will play an important role globally in developing the strategic technology partner strategy, GTM plans and facilitating alignment between sales and our strategic technology partners (e.g., AWS, commercetools, SAP) to drive joint opportunities and ACV. You will be responsible for executing upon a global strategy with technology partners to develop and win opportunities. This position requires an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset that is able to spearhead solutions, be proactive, and work cross-departmentally. Serving as a key part of our sales function, our partnerships team plays a critical role in driving partner-sourced opportunities, customer value, and extending the reach of the company through our partner ecosystem.
The role of the Director, Strategic Technology Partners is to be the representative of the partner organization responsible for the management of strategic global technology partnerships. This role creates direct alignment between our sales team and the partner, to better serve our customers, prospects, and drive value with our partner ecosystem.
What to expect?
Collaborate closely as a key teammate with the global partner and sales team
Work across the organization (e.g., sales, marketing, product) to be effective
Drive the success of the strategic technology partnerships within Contentful
Lead GTM planning with strategic technology partners
Work with the regional partner team leads, partner sales managers (PSMs), partner marketing, sales and the partners to develop and execute plans that drive and close partner-sourced opportunities for Contentful
Develop and own the key partner relationships at the strategic technology partners
Manage and lead negotiations with Contentful legal team for all strategic technology partner agreements
Align with strategic technology partners and Contentful product team to develop integrated product offerings and help manage delivery against a joint roadmap
Lead expansion for new integrated product offerings and industry offerings with strategic technology partner product and industry teams
What do you need to be successful?
7+ years of enterprise partner management experience working for a digital agency or technology platform provider
Experience in CMS and/or Commerce
Demonstrated continued success within rapidly emerging technology companies
Polished and impactful presenter and facilitator
Combination of technical and sales/customer success acumen
Strong sales orientation with the ability to interpret/distill requests from the field into impactful deliverables
Experience partnering with multiple stakeholders including but not limited to marketing, product, engineering, and sales
Strong understanding and articulation of the intersection of business solutions and implementation
Strategic thinker with the ability to understand complex issues, and develop/apply/simplify frameworks to facilitate broader organizational understanding, decision-making, and action (with leadership and cross-functional teams)
Experience in account mapping and planning with both the sales organization as well as partners
Consultatory outbound sales and/or partner selling experience with a SaaS product
History of working with a large partner ecosystem comprised of both technology and solution partners
Strong internal and external collaboration and negotiation skills
