IT Business Analyst

Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the incumbent performs the full range of analytical procurement activities on behalf of the Department of Justice staff. This includes post-award activities described in the State Contracting Manual, Volume 2, Chapter 19 Payment Fundamentals and Payment of Invoices, and tasks to support the procurement of information technology (IT) software, hardware, consulting services, and ancillary products and/or services. This position requires knowledge and understanding of the State's procurement and contracting laws, policies, and procedures. Incumbent must exercise initiative and independence during the performance of assignments, analytical, and consultative tasks relating to IT software procurement and service contracts, budgets, legislation, and special projects. Good verbal and written communication skills are required in conjunction with these activities. Participates in and successfully completes ongoing training associated with post-award and contract management duties.

Working Conditions

This position is designated for telework under Government Code section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California and may require reporting to headquarters or field offices and facilities to fulfill operational needs. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Justice policies.

This position is eligible for telework up to 3 days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. A teleworker is considered Remote-centered if they work fifty percent or more of their time from an alternate work location. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
