The Director of K-12 Education oversees K-8 and Teen and College Access programs at the Honickman Learning Center Comcast Technology Labs location. Provides vision and leadership steeped in the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion to achieve and maintain excellence in high-quality K-8, Teen and College Access programming. The Director of K-12 Education participates in internal working groups and external committees that deepen our commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and values
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work to ensure long-term health, effectiveness, and strength of K-12 and College Access programs and of the organization
Recruit, train, and supervise K-8 Program and Teen and College Access Program Managers
Provide leadership, support, and guidance for K-12 Education programs at the Honickman Learning Center Comcast Technology Labs. Create a welcoming community hub that serves PH residents, K-12 19121 and 19132 partner schools and residents as the premier provider of technology, literacy, and education, helping students: Improve K-8 literacy proficiency
Improve K-12 technology proficiency
Provide exposure to state-of-the-art STEAM Lab, STEM activities and other Digital Arts Electives
Ensure high-quality services are delivered to students enrolled in K-12 and College Access programs while continually assessing and adapting programs to best meet the community's changing needs.
Ensures compliance with contract and grant performance standards, Keystone Stars accreditation and PA OCDEL licensing requirements. Deliver data-driven metrics on program services and report monthly, quarterly and annual outcomes. Ensure accurate training records, resident employment records, caseload efforts, and participant outcomes are maintained by all staff
Develop a tutoring program in collaboration with the Director K-12 Academic Enrichment
Plan, approve, and manage annual operating budgets for K-8, Teen and College Access education programs
Develop and foster strategic relationships with industry partners, schools, employers, and other community-based organizations
Facilitate enrichment activities and events that raise the visibility of K-8, Teen and College Access programs and engage the community

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or other related Human or Social Services field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience managing After-school programs, Elementary, Middle and/or High Schools, or other youth development or Social Service programs with progressive management experience
Proven track record of achievement and producing results
Ability to lead, plan and manage systematic and organizational change
Experience managing large complex budgets
Experience grant writing, reporting and meeting contract, grant, accreditation or licensure requirements
Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Experience utilizing database management systems
FBI, Criminal History, Child Abuse and National Sex Offender Registry clearance required
Verification of childcare experience required
Proof of Education (diploma and transcripts) required
Health Assessment with negative TB test required
Preferred Experience:
Master's Degree in Education or Human Services or other related fields
Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
Core Skills:
Exceptional project management and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines effectively. Able to prioritize tasks well
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and across all departments and locations. Keeps calm under pressure
Physical requirements:
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Ability to climb up and walk downstairs. able to carry/lift up to 25 lbs.
