GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY :
This position supports the Mission and Values of the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass with a primary focus on cultivating a clean and healthy environment. As an ambassador at every level of the experience, emphasis will be placed on the alignment of our daily operational impacts with measurements and practices that optimize efficiency and promote cleanliness, health, and environmental wellness. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the first and last impression on cleanliness at all properties under the Space Needle management umbrella, outside and inside, top to bottom. Success of this role will directly correlate with supporting daily Guest demand, consistently maintaining high standards of cleanliness, managing expenses, reducing or mitigating harm to the environment, surrounding ecosystems, and the community members that inhabit them.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Primary responsibility for Elevate Clean & Housekeeping standards at each venue including retail outlets with general leadership support for all onsite operations at each venue
Includes: Admissions, Elevator Operations, Events, Uniforms, and Valet
Liaison between custodial service vendors, senior leadership, and frontline Team Members
Internal Collaboration- Work closely with custodial team, Glass Keepers, and department representatives to achieve elevated levels of cleanliness for all areas
External Collaboration- Establish and Maintain Vendor Relationships
Housekeeping (contract compliance, scheduling, communication, special projects)
Supplies Vendor
Inventory and Ordering, Equipment & Tools
Guide, Manage, Measure, and Report on all aspects related to the 9 Foundations of a Health Building
Align operational success with pillars of sustainability
Air Quality & Energy, Water Conservation, Procurement, Transportation, Waste Management
Green Spend
Seek, participate in, and provide Education & Training
Ongoing continued education (CE), certifications, and participation in conferences
Efficacy and efficiency with products and processes
Safety training on proper techniques and utilization, alignment to specifications for application to all FF&E (existing and new)
Health and Safety
Indoor air quality, chemical controls including SDS, disinfection and sanitization of surfaces, emergency response and fire/Life/Safety protocols.
Policy, Process, and Procedure creation, implementation, and management
Company SOPs
Quarterly department meetings, performance reviews and maintenance of training manuals
Compliance- LEED, 9 Foundations of a Healthy Building, OSHA/WISHA, DOSH, Chihuly Studios
Sort, systemize, sanitize, standardize, and sustain
Department and Program financial management- Budgets, Capital, and P&L (OpEx and Labor) with a focus on utilizing the circular economy model as it pertains to the procurement process
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :
Ability to identify and willingness to Anticipate, Connect and Transform Moments
Passion to continuously improve the overall health, safety and wellbeing of the venue, its inhabitants and the relationship to the community and environment while protecting the Brand
Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 4 years proven work experience relevant to operations management, healthcare, custodial services, and social responsibility.
Experience in facilities/operations/hospitality/tourism preferred.
Technology savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Web-based communication platforms, custodial software platforms and support applications
Proven ability to capture, analyze, and interpret data to make meaningful adjustments and recommendations that positively affect People, Planet, Profit
Self-motivated, creative, and team oriented with an understanding that individual goals contribute to company goals
Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Professional, courteous, and polite manner
Conscientious in quality, respect, and service, for Guests, Team Members, and Visitors
Ability to walk, stand, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds, use manual dexterity entire shift and work in confined spaces Typical shift is 8 hours
Travel maybe required at times
Primarily evenings, weekends, and special events on an as needed basis (Wed-Sun)
Full time, Salaried position
Salary Range: $68,000 - $70,000 DOE + Bonus up to 10%
