SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide support and assistance to the Controller / Admin Operations Manager in all functions & requirements of the departments.
This includes ensuring the financials are kept current and accurate at all times.
Some basic functions are, but are not limited to, contract billings, lien releases, accounts receivables, payroll postings (Paychex reports), cost analysis, reconciliations of various accounts, journal transactions, posting cash receipts, etc.
This position will not be responsible for the vendor payables as there is a current Accounts Payables (A/P) Clerk.
Critical to this role is an openness to learn, embrace new ideas, be supportive to the Company staff, and bring a positive attitude to Crestview’s culture.
The goal is to train and develop this position into a Senior Accountant that can support the Controller even more in the daily, weekly, and monthly required duties associated with the finances of the Company.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:Review and verify daily payroll entries for compliance.
Prepare monthly contract billings based upon production’s schedule of values.
Handle filing preliminary notices (new projects) and lien releases (monthly billings) as required.
Make A/R calls, as required, on any past due client invoices.
Reconcile credit cards, bank statements, and misc. accounts at the end of each month.
Post reoccurring journal entries & vendor payments at the beginning of each month.
Process employee credit card reimbursement forms at the end of the month.
Process all Company mileage reimbursements after each pay period.
Review, verify, and approve payroll with Paychex twice a month before processing.
Post the payroll reports twice a month from Paychex.
Work with the Inventory and Fleet Manager to keep assets current at all times.
Support the Controller with month-end closing and year-end closing items.
Any additional items that are required to support the Controller in managing the finances.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) to three (3) years of professional Accounting, Finance work history.
Knowledge of acceptable safe work practices including wearing the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
Excellent knowledge of Accounting principles and practices.
Adhere to all Accounting rules and regulations.
Proactive self-starter, achieving high productivity with strong attention to detail; ability to work independently with little instruction; coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks, set deadlines, and complete projects in a timely manner is required.
Demonstrate the highest level of professional and ethical conduct.
Positive, tenacious attitude.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Some local travel – up to 25%.
Must possess a valid California Driver's License.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Ability to comfortably work with software and apps on a desktop, iPhone, and/or iPad.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Accounting software (i.e., Sage, QuickBooks).
Quick learner and ability to figure things out on your own.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information to effectively execute and achieve results.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience working as an Accounting Associate or a similar position in an Accounting department.
Landscaping, construction industry experience highly preferred.

Annual salary range:
$66,560.00 to $75,000.00, dependent on skills and experience.
Discretionary Annual Bonus based upon performance.
Unlimited vacation (subject to approval by manager) & eight (8) Company paid holidays.
401(k) program with Company matching of 4% (maximum salary of $100,000.00).
