MANAGER OF CONSTITUENT SERVICES, DISTRICT 1
Baltimore City Council
The Office of Councilman Zeke Cohen seeks a Manager of Constituent Services to join our dynamic team. The Manager of Constituent Services is responsible for handling internal operations including administrative tasks, email and scheduling, but also will serve in a quasi-communications director role for the Councilman, requiring extensive understanding of the social media landscape, website maintenance, and a high-level writing ability.
SALARY: $43,753.00 - $52,220.00

Work Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm
TYPICAL EXAMPLES OF THE WORK

Be first point of contact for constituent issues, routing them to the appropriate staff member or agency.
Manage the Councilman’s schedule, coordinating locations for in-person events and zoom meetings.
Build and develop relationships within and outside City government, including with other council offices, City agencies, the Mayor’s office, state and federal partners, and local advocates.
Assist in drafting and refining Councilman’s external communications, including press releases, and managing logistics of community events or actions
Create and post social media posts for the Councilman and assist in the creation of the Councilman’s Website - Content Constituents.
Create attractive, clean, and informative graphics on the Councilman’s work.
Field requests for interviews with the Councilman and comment from media outlets.
Attend community association meetings and forge relationships with community leaders and members.
Collaborate with constituents and City agencies to solve problems.
Performs related work as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong interest in politics and government, especially local government
Familiarity with Baltimore and the 1st District
Organized, detail-oriented, reliable, strong written communicator with robust customer service skills
Experience with policy research and excitement about diving into the weeds of complex issues
Ability to work some evenings and weekends as circumstances dictate
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate with ideally 1-2 years of work experience.

- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
