Electrical Systems Engineer – Hardware Development Team
Westborough, MA
Position Overview
The Electrical Systems Engineer will substantially contribute to new product designs and be responsible for applicable electrical engineering deliverables; creating engineering documentation, schematic design, specifying components, define BOMs, and perform Engineering Verification Tests.
Primary Responsibilities
Work with Product Management to understand requirements and create product specifications.
Contribute to the development of new product development schedules
Design, create schematics for, prototype, evaluate, and document prototype and production-ready energy storage systems and components
Develop test specifications for product verification
Provide content for end-user documentation
Interface with and assist test engineering and manufacturing engineering to verify compliance of products to mandated safety and conformance, customer, and project requirements.
Interface with manufacturing to design products to production standards (DFM)
Conduct design reviews for your work and participate or lead DFMEA/WCA reviews
Co-develop products along with engineers from Software, Firmware, Mechanical, PCB design
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
This position requires experience in analog, digital, and power electronics
Familiarity with power semiconductors, DC-DC power supplies, and communication circuits
Experience selecting and specifying system level components such as relays, circuit breakers, fuses, power supplies, cables, and connectors.
Familiarity with AC voltage theory – single phase, three phase, and transformers
Proficient in reading electrical circuit schematics
Able to interpret and create system level wiring diagrams and other one-line diagrams
Cable assembly specification and design
Experience in product development phases from concept to production
Experience with battery and power management is ideal
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or technical field required.
5+ years direct exposure in related fields of analog, power and digital circuit design.
Systems Integration and/or Systems Engineering experience is ideal
Travel
Occasional travel may be required; less than 10% annually.
