Licensed Childcare Center Director
If you have childcare experience actively supporting a Director and assisting staff and program participants then Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a Licensed Childcare Center Director at Ballard Community Center. This is a full-time role that boast a competitive salary and outstanding benefits including 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, and a $600 signing bonus.
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. The Licensed Childcare Center Director is responsible for developing program offerings in partnership with the director. The assistant director is responsible for creating and supporting a fun, safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for staff and participants. This person establishes and maintains positive relationships with parents, participants, and community center and Seattle Public Schools (SPS) staff.
Pay: $34.00-36.13/hr plus $600 bonus
Full range: $34.00 - 42.50/hr (Over time, the employee in this role may earn up to $42.50/hr with additional years of service.)
*bonus is paid out in 3 installments of $200 after 30, 60, and 90 days of employment. Must be an active employee at the time of payment to receive the bonus.
Schedule: 9:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday
Location: Ballard Community Center
Licensed Childcare Center Director duties and responsibilities include:
Maintaining required staff to participant ratios (no more than 1:15)
Mentoring, training, and coaching staff in the development and implementation of program
Conducting regular assessments, observations, and audits of programs, participants, and staff paperwork to be in compliance with Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) licensing and School-Age Program Quality Assessment (SAPQA) requirements
Creating staff schedules and budget planning
Licensed Childcare Center Director requirements include:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Early Childhood and Family Studies, or related degree OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college verified as "approved" in MERIT AND 30+ approved quarter credits in ECE, verified through MERIT. Up to 10 credits may be classified as ECE-School Age hybrid ("E/S") credits. At least 2+ years of experience as a teacher of children in any age group enrolled in the early learning program and at least six months of experience in administration
Must have 2+ years supervisory and/or mentorship experience
Must meet or obtain DCYF licensing requirements prior to working in the program
