Job Summary
The Director of Information Technology will plan, coordinate, design, and direct IT-related activities for the organization. Ensures the effective and efficient development of information, operating and data management systems in support of network, communications, and core business functions. Addresses user needs, budgets, and existing applications to meet system requirements and maintain technical standards. Provides for required IT hardware and systems. Maintains IT infrastructure and IT policies to maximize stability and uptime across all IT systems and environments. Ensures IT compliance, support for the company’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans, and corporate risk management.
Essential Responsibilities
Leads and oversees all IT operations, systems, programs, software and hardware, network equipment, website development and management, data security systems, and other IT-based systems and operations.
Maintains updated and compliant software licensing, manages IT vendor relations, and is the Company’s technical subject matter expert in assessing and meeting the technical needs of the organization.
Evaluates the impact and success of all systems in achieving their stated objectives.
Oversees, manages, and leads the IT projects and upgrades from start to finish, driving collaboration with stakeholders and leveraging the correct internal processes.
Works from a foundation of deep business, technology, and data security expertise to build enterprise excellence.
Relies on extensive knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals.
Maintains external relationships and builds trust-based relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
Maintains a clear growth roadmap and works with department and corporate executive leadership to secure the resources needed to deliver on that growth.
Responsible for applicable and assigned vendor oversight and management including, but not limited to competitive vendor evaluation and selection, establishing standards of performance, measuring, and analyzing performance to standards, problem/issue resolution, etc.
Effectively developing, implementing, maintaining, overseeing, and managing all IT operations projects, constructs, and systems.
Building out enterprise-wide technology/tools that support a scalable business analytic practice.
Provide primary oversight for all IT systems and operations in all locations.
Effectively leading and working with team members across the enterprise to accomplish projects and performance goals.
Maintaining and ensuring compliance with all applicable certifications, regulations, and legal requirements.
Effectively managing vendors and resolving issues associated with vendor oversight.
Maintaining a high level of integrity and appropriate confidentiality in all activities and efforts.
Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in the absence of supervision.
Addresses and resolves a wide variety of complex technology, data management and reporting issues and problems.
Provides for and leads improvements in processes, programs, productivity, and services.
Establishes and/or supports company goals and objectives; makes decisions based upon best approach/practices to meet those goals, objectives, and performance requirements.
Makes decisions based upon the appropriate application of IT systems and operations best practices.
Performs all additional duties as requested and directed for this position.
Basic Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in an IT management role
Education
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent directly related progressive work experience.
License, Certification, Registration
N/A
Knowledge Of:
Expert level knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications, networking design and connectivity, operating systems software and hardware, data management systems and programs and all other IT systems and programs required to meet the needs of the enterprise.
Strong knowledge of both cloud and locally hosted IT systems.
Strong knowledge of data management, business analytics, and reporting.
Strong knowledge of Oracle, MSSQL, SQL, C Sharp, Sybase systems.
Strong vendor oversight and management methods and practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, strategic project management, and strong problem-solving techniques.
Strong team leadership skills, principles, and techniques.
Position Details
Primary Location: Long Beach, California
Job Schedule: Full time
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Shift: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Travel: Yes, up to 25%
