Operations Analyst

Hilltop Securities is currently hiring for an Operations Analyst to support the Collateral Operations group in Dallas, Texas. The Operations group is a collection of sub-departments which is responsible for everything after an account is opened or a trade occurs. The Operations group's responsibilities include opening customer accounts, account maintenance, receiving and delivering money and securities to customers, and many more.
The Collateral Operations group is composed primarily of the Collateral Management and Stock Record Control teams and includes additional responsibility for overarching Operational regulatory and financial controls. The Collateral Ops group manages regulated securities control functions including bank loan and stock loan recalls, deficit monitoring, and the buy-in desk. The Stock Record Control group manages regulated securities control functions including quarterly security counts and confirmations.
Responsibilities Under moderate supervision, performs complex functions according to department and industry guidelines.
Responsible for non-routine activities/transactions by drawing on multiple information sources and understanding multiple effects of a transaction.
Consistently review and process email requests at a high volume.
Focus on Regulation SHO monitoring of short and long sells for compliance with regulated timelines for settlement and closeout.
Monitor CNS closeouts to ensure prompt control of securities.
Review and analyze aged fails, unsecured debits, and aged exceptions to drive to prompt resolution.
Escalates items of risk to supervisors.
Cross functional understanding and coverage as needed of all Collateral Ops aspects.
Follows tight timelines and adheres to required reporting, audit, and retention guidelines.
Participates as a team member in the creation and onboarding of broker dealer operational processes.
Assist with special projects assigned by manager.
Qualifications 3+ years experience with back-office Operations experience with specific experience in P&S, Securities Control, Settlement or Finance
Ability to quickly and accurately solve complex problems
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and back-office systems
Customer focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong project and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to adapt to changing organizational priorities
Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize workload to meet daily deadlines
Team player with ability to work well in fast paced environment
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to work accurately while exercising judgment, logic, integrity and initiative.
Available to work extra hours as needed to complete assigned tasks and responsibilities
