Position Summary

The Director, Program Management will manage overall project timelines, risks, and communication management ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met with high quality, on time and within budget. The role is highly cross-functional, multi-cultural, and broadly engaged across our growing organization.

The ideal candidate will bring clinical-stage program management expertise, deep understanding of drug development and regulatory processes, and the ability to assess and drive deployment of tools and best practices to ensure successful product development. The Associate Director will regularly communicate project status and risks to management. The role will report to VP of Program Management. #Hybrid

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Creates and drives timelines to keep program(s) on schedule. Prepares program timelines (Gantt chart) identifying all significant activities, dependencies, resources, and milestones. Assists the Program Leader in planning, coordinating, and tracking cross-functional activities for the program. Conducts continual review and analysis of critical path activities and communicates any perceived risks for budget or timeline to management in a timely manner.

Facilitates highly effective team building and communication. Works with the Program Leader and team to develop and distribute agendas for regular team meetings. Schedules and facilitates meetings and keeps them on track. Provides meeting agendas and minutes and drives follow up on action items. Proactively identifies and resolves program team challenges. Guides team on escalation path and need for governance input.

Partners with the Program Leader to optimize team effectiveness and decision making. Works with the Program Leader and team to develop a detailed project plan and associated budget.

Drives information flow and communicates program status to all stakeholders in collaboration with the Program Leader. Produces regular status reports (milestones, status, issues, decisions), following review by the Program Leader and Program Team, for senior management.

Interfaces internally by acting as a liaison and facilitator of cross functional teams (i.e., Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, CMC, Tox, Regulatory, QA, Finance, BD, Marketing, etc.) in planning and executing trials.

Performs effective risk management assessments with the Program Team, the Program Leader, and stakeholders.

Maintains effective communication across the program team through oral and written correspondence and ensures adequate documentation of each communication.

Identifies, develops and/or maintains an appropriate electronic platform (SharePoint, Shared Folders, etc.) for reporting/archiving/documentation of relevant program information, records, etc.

Ability to work 3-4 days/week in the evenings to work with colleagues in Shanghai.

Other duties as assigned.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements

Ability to assess development paths, drive program plans and timelines across multiple functional areas, including identifying key risks and recommending options for creative mitigation strategies is essential.

Proactive mindset, strong leadership, facilitation, teamwork, and influence management/ negotiation skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint is required.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Strong interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor and ability to communicate in person and virtually

Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as exceptional organizational capability.

Ability to foster qualities of a high performing team, strategic thinking, and high-level planning

Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic environment

REQUIREMENTS

Education

BA/BS is required, with an advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MS, MBA, MD) preferred.

Experience

10+ years of work experience in industry, 7+ years of Program/Project Management experience, within a matrixed pharmaceutical or biotechnology organization.

Prior experience in leading and managing global interdisciplinary or cross functional pharmaceutical or biotech teams is required.

Track record of leading development projects through all clinical phases of development across geographies and cultures

Proven success in goal setting, prioritization and time management is required.

Understanding of FDA and/or EMA quality and regulatory processes is required and experience with regulatory submissions is highly desired.

Licenses or Certifications

PMP certification is preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Limited travel to conferences within the US and to visit colleagues in Shanghai.

The target salary range for this full-time role is $210,000 - $250,000 + equity + benefits. Structure Therapeutics determines salary ranges based on level and scope of responsibilities, as well as location. Individual pay is further determined by additional factors, including relevant experience, specific job skills, education and training.
