OVERVIEW

The Clinical Supervisor for Unaccompanied Children’s Services is responsible for all aspects of supervising a team of six social workers providing culturally and linguistically appropriate Enhanced Post Release Services (EPRS) to unaccompanied children (UC) in USCRI’s HS/PRS program. The Clinical Supervisor reports to the Assistant Director. This position is located remotely out of California.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and supervise a team of social workers providing intensive clinical case management and crisis intervention services to unaccompanied children (enhanced post release services, or EPRS).

• Direct and coordinate EPRS to unaccompanied children.

• Conduct individual and group supervision with staff on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

• Review, edit and approve home visit reports and other required documentation.

• Ensure compliance with USCRI and ORR requirements and policies governing the provision of EPRS and maintain a high standard of quality.

• Identify staff learning needs, coordinate and conduct training and onboarding of new staff.

• Provide ongoing leadership, direction, development, coaching, counseling, oversight, clinical guidance, and support to staff to ensure child welfare principles and social work best practices are central components of EPRS.

• Identify partnership opportunities and conduct strategic outreach to local service providers to raise awareness and enhance existing support networks to children and families.

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS

• Masters of Social Work or an equivalent advanced degree in a behavioral science (e.g., education, psychology, sociology) or social services field with 5 years of progressive experience in the fields listed above; candidate will possess clinical licensure in their field of discipline (ex. LCSW, LPC, LMFT)

• Demonstrated understanding and experience with case management, home placements, and child welfare.

• Excellent judgment and leadership ability; must be able to make independent decisions which ensure that outstanding services are being provided within necessary timeframes, and that the team and team members are complying with all required policies and procedures.

• Extensive knowledge of community resources, particularly for individuals without legal status.

• Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, a clean driving record, and personal transportation.

• Ability to prioritize duties independently, think strategically, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work well independently and to lead a team.

• Supervisory experience is highly preferred.

• Fluency in Spanish required.

• Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to comply with mandatory state reporting requirements for child abuse and neglect.

• Candidate must have dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and displaced people.

• Candidate must pass a criminal background check that includes past history of conviction of child and sexual abuse.

• Possess or be able to obtain CPR and basic first aid certification.

• Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

• Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training.

• Satisfactory completion of ORR required trainings prior to serving clients and on an annual basis.

• Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.

• Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.

• Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.

• Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
