About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director for a newly re-imagined gift planning leadership role. The successful candidate will be tasked with enhancing the current planned giving efforts and building out a re-imagined gift planning program that focuses on new and creative strategies to maximize donor potential. This includes leveraging traditional planned giving vehicles, cash, and non-liquid assets. The Executive Director will be responsible for leading the gift planning team, providing training and coaching to fundraisers, and actively participating in goal setting and performance measurement. Collaboration with internal and external partners is essential to close six, seven, and eight-figure gifts and to ensure that gift planning strategies are integrated into all prospect strategies.Ideal candidates for this role at the company will demonstrate a strong commitment to collaborative prospect strategies, technical gift planning expertise, and a proven track record in closing complex gifts. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a JD, advanced degree, or certification in estate planning preferred. The role demands at least ten years of development experience, with a focus on successful major gift solicitations, and a willingness to personally solicit large gifts. The Executive Director must have a strong understanding of development and planned giving best practices, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to engage and inspire donors. The position also requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a genuine commitment to the principles of development and alumni relations, including equity, diversity, and inclusion.
