Kodiak Sciences is a fast-growing clinical-stage biotechnology company with a singular focus in ophthalmology. Our unique Antibody Biopolymer Conjugate (ABC) platform merges the fields of protein engineering and polymer chemistry and is at the core of our discovery engine.
We are looking for a highly motivated, independent and skilled cell biologist to join our Discovery Medicine group. The candidate will be part of a team responsible for developing a pipeline of novel therapies for the treatment of retinal diseases.
Responsibilities
* Perform varied cell and molecular biology techniques including cell culture, imaging, protein, and RNA analysis
* Develop and execute cell-based multi-well plate assays to ensure timely and high-quality data delivery
* Troubleshoot assays to ensure quality control and reproducibility
* Analyze, interpret and effectively present data at team meetings
Education/Requirements
* B.S. or M.S. in cell or molecular biology or a related life sciences
* Significant experience (2+ years, title will reflect experience) with the culture of mammalian cells, cell-based assay development and execution; industry experience preferred
* Experience with a range of cell and molecular biology techniques, including ELISA, qPCR, and Western blotting
* Experience with cell imaging systems and image analyses is a plus
* Proficiency with data analysis software including Excel and Graphpad Prism
* Attention to detail; must be precise and meticulous in the execution of experiments
* Critical thinking and systematic problem-solving skills
* Collaborative spirit, self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are a must
