As the Chief Engineer, you will oversee all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the safety, security, and functionality of our physical plant. From managing budgets to leading emergency response teams, this role offers a diverse set of responsibilities in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all engineering and maintenance operations, including building upkeep, grounds maintenance, and physical plant management.

Oversee budget management, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation efforts.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and lead the emergency response team for facility issues.

Supervise maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to procedures, policies, and performance expectations.

Monitor departmental expenses, control maintenance contracts, and utility costs to achieve financial objectives.

Participate in the preparation of annual departmental operating budgets and capital plans.

Maintain the hotel's equipment and systems, including life safety, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and more.

Handle maintenance request orders promptly and courteously, including logging and follow-up.

Hire, train, supervise, and conduct performance evaluations for department associates.

Communicate regularly with management regarding building conditions and propose cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar engineering or maintenance management role, preferably in the hospitality industry.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to building maintenance and safety.

Experience with budget management, capital planning, and expense control.

Technical expertise in building systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.

Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds occasionally.
