Duties:
Provide legal counsel and guidance on employment tax issues to clients
Advise on state and federal payroll reporting requirements and correction procedures
Handle IRS Forms W-2, 941, and 940
Manage employee retention credit matters
Handle state and federal employment tax audit and appeal procedures
Interpret fringe benefit taxation and exclusion rules
Navigate interstate and international employment tax matters
Conduct legal research and analysis
Draft legal documents, memos, and opinions
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
Manage competing priorities and deadlines
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of employment
LLM in Tax preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment tax in a law firm, in-house, or a Big 4 Accounting firm setting
Skills:
Strong analytical and writing skills
Familiarity with state and federal payroll reporting requirements
Experience with IRS Forms W-2, 941, and 940
Knowledge of employee retention credit matters
Proficiency in state and federal employment tax audit and appeal procedures
Understanding of fringe benefit taxation and exclusion rules
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
