CONTROLLER (FULLY REMOTE, East Coast)
We are currently representing a dynamic, PE-backed SaaS/Tech company on the East Coast in their search for a seasoned Accounting leader to join their growing team. Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will oversee the accounting function, leading a team of 3-5+ professionals. Key responsibilities include: Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
Cash Management / Treasury Accounting: Monitor cash flow and oversee treasury operations.
Business Insurance / Risk Management: Manage insurance policies and assess risk exposure.
General Ledger / Accounting Operations: Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and day-to-day accounting operations.
Acquisition Accounting: Lead accounting activities related to mergers and acquisitions.
Accounting and Payroll Management: Supervise payroll processes and compliance.
Compliance and External Audit Management: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and manage relationships with auditors and tax advisors.
Financial Systems: Drive enhancements and efficiencies in financial systems, including implementation of upgrades.
Staff Mentoring and Development: Foster the professional growth of accounting team members.
Collaboration with FP&A Team: Work closely with the FP&A team to support financial planning and analysis activities.
GAAP Compliance: Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Ideal Candidate Profile: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's degree preferred).
Certification: CPA designation required.
Experience: 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the software/SaaS industry and with Big 4 public accounting background.
Leadership: Proven track record of overseeing accounting teams and developing talent.
Technical Skills: Strong technical accounting skills, including acquisition accounting.
PE Experience: Experience working in a private equity-backed environment preferred.
Systems Acumen: Ability to drive improvements in financial systems.
Collaborative Nature: Highly collaborative with excellent interpersonal skills.
Growth Mindset: Desire to contribute to the rapid growth and success of a dynamic team.

Pay Transparency Notice Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
licensure and certification requirements;
office location and other geographic considerations;
other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
