Job Summary:
The Residential Installation Lead ’s role is to properly install home comfort systems (HVAC) into residential homes within the guidelines established by Tom’s Mechanical, Inc., and all applicable regulatory agencies. The residential installer will act in a safe manner and maintain our top-notch quality customer service and satisfaction while performing their duties.
Position Duties & Responsibilities:
Installs home comfort systems, as assigned, with quality and workmanship under time guidelines and goals to ensure customer satisfaction
Works successfully with our customer care teams to ensure effective dispatching while maintaining a productive schedule without unnecessary delays
Completes assignments on nights and/or weekends to serve customers, as needed
Maintains a valid Texas driver’s license with a clear (or Company acceptable near clear) driving record to ensure ability to travel to assigned jobs
Maintains and upgrades skills and the latest industry technology knowledge, as offered through Tom’s by participating in, and engaging in, on-going training programs
Maintains communication with the Residential Systems Manager regarding any issues, customer concerns, or any obstacle that may hinder meeting Tom’s guidelines for customer satisfaction
Completes all documentation and necessary administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner to support Company operations
Maintains appropriate and professional communication with all Tom Mechanical, Inc.’s customers while meeting or exceeding customer service quality and workmanship requirements

Supports the on-call installation schedules Works Monday through Friday with ability and willingness to work a rotating, on-call schedule during weeknights, and weekends, as scheduled.
Works, as needed and requested by supervisor / management, in emergency HVAC situations
Works with Residential Installation Supervisor to develop a skills development plan
Keeps approved, appropriate logs of refrigerants
Performs other related duties, as assigned

Education and Experience:
Current EPA certification and TDLR License
High School Diploma, GED and/or a certification from an accredited technical school
Residential HVAC experience a plus
Experience with troubleshooting and repair on basic split units, hanging warehouse heaters and package units up to 50 tons, a plus
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to: Bend or twist body, 90 degrees in either direction
Stand on all surfaces for long periods of time
Squat and touch floor with hands
Use hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools and/or controls
Climb ladder, scaffolds and/or poles safely
Use repetitive motions
Walk and/or run for long periods of time
Lift up to 50 lbs., in addition to body weight
Reach over head with ease
Access rooftops with extension or fixed ladders at heights of up to 50 feet, as needed
Complete job with safety in mind for all involved and communicate any issues to the assigned SME that could lead to safety concerns prior to completing tasks
Work long hours during peak heating and cooling seasons
