Team Introduction Join the TikTok Monetization Products Strategy Data Science team, a dynamic group dedicated to leveraging data for high-level insights and informed decision-making. To maximize user value, advertiser value, creator value, and platform value with data, we are seeking high-energy individuals that are passionate about working with our unprecedented monetization products, technology and data to bring inspirational research into real world applications, and present them to senior executive leaders. This internship is ideal for students who are enthusiastic about data science and eager to apply their skills in mathematical modeling and statistical analysis in a practical, impactful setting. We are particularly interested in candidates with research background in statistical inference, experimentation design and online advertising. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in data mining and analysis, playing a key role in our product development and strategy. This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2024. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship cycles below: 1.May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024 2.May 27, 2024 to August 16, 2024 3.June 10, 2024 to August 30, 2024 We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. Responsibilities - Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining to understand user / advertiser interactions with TikTok's ads products. - Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to address business challenges, design metrics, identifying trends and opportunities. - Play a key role in informing and influencing product decisions and strategies - Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor product performance. - Analyze large data sets to extract meaningful insights that influence product decisions. - Manage the development of data resources, coordinating requirements and supporting product launches.- Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in a quantitative field such as Math, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. - Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (preferably R/Python). - Experience in using data visualization tools - Experience with large data sets and distributed computing (Hive/Hadoop) is a plus. - Proactive and independent in driving projects to completion with minimal guidance, including effective prioritization and time management skills. - Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively presenting analysis results and working collaboratively across diverse teams. - Strong curiosity; sensitive to data; good at extracting insights from data.
