We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee a facility's operations and strategic direction. The General Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering a safe and productive work environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, industry knowledge, and a strategic mindset to drive business growth and uphold operational standards. This position will work closely with the president in meeting the objectives of the company.
Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Direct and oversee all operations, including loading and unloading operations, and oversee the service and maintenance of the capital assets.
Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize performance, maximize efficiency, and meet financial targets.
Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and resolving any issues promptly.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
Risk Management: Management of safety programs and the safety of employees. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize operational disruptions and ensure safety.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on performance, financial results, and operational metrics for senior management.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational processes, efficiency, and overall performance.
Environmental Stewardship: Promote and enforce environmental stewardship practices and sustainability initiatives within the operations.
Qualifications:
Education: Engineering Degree or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a team in project management, terminal operations, heavy highway construction, or related industry.
Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and managerial experience with the ability to motivate and manage a workforce team. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and operational management software such as SiteDocs, Samsara & Fleetsoft.
