UX Design Manager

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced UX Design Manager to join our Design Team. At its core, this position is focused on leading a team to deliver best-in-class Product Design by taking business, product, tech, and regulatory requirements and synthesizing them into effective, easy to use, beautiful, and scalable experiences in a fast paced environment. You will serve as player and coach as you lead the team and collaborate closely with your direct reports. You’ll serve as a strategic partner to cross functional peers in Product and Engineering to create software products with a positive impact on the business and our customers. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, a willingness to lead design initiatives, and a focus on people are key for success in this position.

This position reports to the VP of Design, and is focused on Financial Management products.

Responsibilities

Lead the Design team. Attract, retain, and develop Design talent. Provide feedback on performance. Foster career development.

Ensure smooth and effective day-to-day functioning of the team, including balancing workload, toolset, clearing blockers to productivity or creativity.

Ensure that standards for quality of work are met. Lead the Design team to create beautiful, polished, production-ready web and mobile web designs that reflect the brand, express UX best practices, and result in an engaging User experience.

Establish processes to ensure UX fidelity through clear specs and documentation, validation, and collaboration with Engineering.

Drive the maintenance and evolution of the UX Design system. Collaborate with fellow Designers to grow and scale the Design system. Ensure consistency within the system.

Execute a full UX Design process, from research, concept, designs, production, and launch for new products, features, and feature enhancements when needed.

Test and validate design solutions and proposals in partnership with UX Research.

Collaborate with cross functional peers and key stakeholders in Product, Engineering, Operations, and Brand to foster user-centric design thinking. Serve as a catalyst for creative thinking.

Qualifications

Over 5 years of expertise in Product UX Design, collaborating directly with Product and Engineering teams.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in UX, HCI, or related fields.

Proficiency in Figma and adept at remote collaboration within distributed teams.

Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, leveraging rapid ideation methodologies like Lean UX, Design Sprints, and Agile.

Skilled in guiding Designers to craft engaging user experiences aligning with product, business, compliance, and technological objectives.

Experience collaborating with stakeholders, peers, and Design team members, fostering an open exchange of ideas and concerns.

Proficient in articulating the rationale behind design decisions and leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data for design inspiration.

Experienced in simplifying complex products, such as fintech or biomedical software, into intuitive and elegant design solutions, prioritizing user experience as the forefront of user engagement.

Passionate about creating aesthetically pleasing and functional software solutions, with a keen eye for detail.

Strong advocate for the end user, dedicated to continuous improvement based on user feedback.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The base pay depends upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified. This role is eligible for annual performance-based bonuses, flexible time off, health care benefits, retirement savings, and employee incentive plans.

Pay Range

$155,000—$214,000 USD
