Product Owner

A Product Owner oversees the development of products from start to finish to ensure they meet the clients’ needs and preferences. Their main duties include determining the overall vision of products, managing various backlog items and deciding which features each product will have according to clients’ preferences. They’ll research and determine the clients’ needs to determine which features to include on products and will pitch ideas for product features to stakeholders. Product Owners will then continue to act as the primary contact between the scrum teams, product development departments and stakeholders.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for innovation and end-to-end launch of products.
Leads process modeling, requirements, design, and testing to deliver software solutions.
Partners with Product Manager to provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and creates requirements, including creating user stories
Supervise and advise the scrum team to meet software expectations
Represents the customer and works closely with the scrum team throughout the development process, participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints
Works with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders, including analytics, design/user experience, engineering, and user enablement.
Partners with stakeholders and customers across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, roadmaps, and prioritization.
Provides an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
Ensures that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
Manages the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements
Nurture ideas and solutions to existing customer problems
Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals
Extract and retrieve data insights into products with actionable outcomes to the ultimate customer.
Schedule and lead meetings to identify issues and fixes for projects
Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process
Liaising with the product team and end-users to deliver updates
Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
Acts as a leader within the organization
May be involved in production support during and after hours
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of equivalent experience
2+ years’ experience in product development for particular vertical
eCommerce/Commerce Tools background strongly preferred
Intermediate SQL and data analysis skills
Intermediate knowledge of data modelling/visualization and use interface design
Intermediate reporting skills
Strong knowledge of Agile principles and process
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent consensus building skills
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail
Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.
