Position: Marketing Proposal Lead / Technical Writer
Reports to: Director of Marketing
Status: Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
The Marketing Proposal Lead is responsible for enhancing the Company's business development efforts by leading the RFQ proposal response, subsequent interview preparation, and other marketing functions. An ideal candidate is a proficient, creative writer that possesses a natural curiosity about the Company's pursuits and will translate that information into winning strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITES:
Supports the creative development and production of marketing deliverables including RFQ/RFP responses, presentations, and other marketing deliverables
Stays current with RFQ opportunities through vendor websites and other databases and assesses the RFP requirements
Ability to research and formulate value-added responses for construction approach based on research and input from project team members, focusing on the unique needs of each client
Assists with the development of the written and graphic strategy for public and private proposals; ability to tell stories about clients, employees, projects and Caliente as a whole
Ensures compliance with RFQ/RFP requirements and coordinates the physical and/or electronic production and submittal of proposals and prequalification documents
Attends proposal pre-submittal meetings and/or schedules attendance for other team members
Provides original written proposal content in coordination with other team members for resumes, organizational charts and other specialized sections
Creates interview strategy; coaches and prepares the project team for interviews
Organizes and maintains all proposal and marketing data, including information on prospects, clients, competitors, written and visual material reference files, proposal boilerplate materials, and other dynamic data in CRM software
Attends customer debriefs, as necessary
Assists with event coordination for trade shows, conferences, open houses, and other Company events
Supports the general office needs with collateral design and production of items such as report covers, banners, ads, and other design and printing needs
Cross-trains other Marketing team members, as necessary
Other duties, as assigned
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Four-year degree in Marketing, Journalism or associated field of study and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in proposal and graphic design for the architectural/engineering/construction (AEC) industry
Proficient with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and MS Office. Knowledge of CRM software and construction programs highly desired
Demonstrated ability to reinforce Caliente's brand through high-quality text and graphic storytelling
Strong marketing experience with willingness to take risks and push the envelope, trying innovative tactics to keep the Company 'Best in Class'
Solid writing and editing capabilities with the ability to bring technical data to life
Visionary thinking with the ability to provide guidance and leadership to junior team members
Creative, self-motivated with attention to detail and focus on quality of results
Organized and reliable with strong time management and planning skills to succeed in a deadline driven environment
Team player with the ability to recognize how individual actions affect the team as a whole
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexible and adaptable to changes to planned tasks or schedule
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work 40 hours per week or more, if required
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs. unassisted
May require repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers
May require prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing throughout workday
Valid driver license and proof of insurability required when job duties require use of motor vehicle
Requires exercising discretion in decision making and maintaining strict confidentiality with respect to applicant, employee, and Company proprietary information
