Property Accountant in Boston, MA
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our dynamic team in Boston. As a key member of the finance department, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions for our diverse property portfolio. Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day accounting activities for a portfolio of properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Reconcile financial statements, bank statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for each property.
Collaborate with property managers and other teams to ensure accurate recording of transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory standards, and internal policies.
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process for assigned properties.
Handle financial aspects of lease agreements, including rent calculations and tenant billings.
Participate in year-end audits and provide necessary documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in accounting, with a focus on property or real estate accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
