About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Data Engineering and Governance to lead and mentor a high-performing team of data architects and engineers. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the organization's data engineering initiatives, ensuring the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, reliable, and secure data infrastructure. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to integrate data engineering strategies with business objectives, architect robust data pipelines, and drive the adoption of emerging technologies. The VP will also be tasked with promoting a data-driven culture, ensuring compliance with data governance policies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions that meet the company's needs.Ideal candidates will have at least 7 years' experience in a senior leadership role in data engineering, a strong technical background in data engineering technologies, and extensive knowledge of data management principles and best practices. The role demands an effective communicator, with excellent leadership and people management skills, who can engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. A college degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates holding an MBA or similar advanced degree. Critical competencies include strong execution skills, leadership skills, technical proficiency, and a strategic business perspective to anticipate market trends and align the technology organization with the company's goals.
