Job Summary:
Nursery Supplies, Inc. (NSI) helps growers see more "green!" In business for more than 70 years, we manufacture one of the largest selections of eco-friendly plastic containers for the wholesale nursery industry. NSI has locations in Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and California.
We seek a seasoned and forward-thinking Director of Information Technology to lead our IT department as we convert our business systems to the cloud. The ideal candidate will have a background in enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing execution systems (MES), transportation management systems (TMS), cybersecurity, data management, and analytics.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Ownership of the IT road map and providing status updates to the CEO and board of directors.
Manage and mentor the IT team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and identify training and development opportunities.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Duties/Responsibilities
ERP, MES, and TMS Leadership
Oversee the implementation and administration of Oracle NetSuite ERP and the supporting business applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business processes.
Optimize the MES Platform to collect data, monitor, automate, and analyze the manufacturing processes from raw material to shipment of finished goods.
Cybersecurity Management
Develop and implement robust cybersecurity strategies to safeguard the company's information assets.
Stay current on cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices, and implement necessary measures to mitigate risks.
Data and Analytics Strategy
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive data and analytics strategy to derive actionable insights and drive informed decision-making.
Establish and maintain data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
IT Infrastructure Management
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to evaluate and implement technology solutions.
Budget Oversight
Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational objectives.
Evaluate and recommend technology investments that align with business goals.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
Ensure IT systems and practices comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address IT-related regulatory requirements.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing IT functions, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Basic knowledge of ERP, MES, cybersecurity, data management, and analytics.
Strong project management skills with a track record of successful system implementations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
