Job Summary:
BigRio is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Data Science to lead our AI Drug Discovery team in a consulting capacity. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in data science, machine learning, bioinformatics, and specific expertise in DNA-encoded library (DEL) machine learning and small molecule drug discovery. This role involves steering our data-driven drug discovery efforts, fostering cross-functional collaborations, and driving innovative solutions that enhance our drug discovery pipeline. and, working hands-on with clients on ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and engineer machine learning models and algorithms to identify potential drug candidates, with a specific focus on DNA-encoded library (DEL) machine learning.
Guide efforts in bioinformatics, cheminformatics, and related fields to enhance drug discovery capabilities.
Ensure the integration of cutting-edge data science techniques and technologies into the drug discovery workflow.
Apply expertise in small molecule drug discovery and early drug discovery phases to drive project success.
Develop and implement strategic plans for leveraging data science to accelerate and optimize the AI drug discovery process.
Data Management and Infrastructure:
Oversee the development and maintenance of data infrastructure, ensuring high-quality data collection, storage, and accessibility.
Implement best practices for data governance, privacy, and security in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
Specific experience with DEL ML ( DNA Encoded Libraries) Machine Learning
Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in data science roles in Drug Discovery
Proven track record of applying data science to drug discovery and development, particularly in DNA-encoded library (DEL) machine learning.
Expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and advanced analytics.\
Strong understanding of bioinformatics, cheminformatics, and related domains.
Specific experience in small molecule drug discovery and early drug discovery phases.
Experience with big data technologies, cloud computing, and high-performance computing environments.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
