Position Overview: The Associate Product Owner at DMI plays a crucial role in supporting the Product Owner and development team. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about Agile practices, customer-centric development, and are looking to grow their career in product management. The Associate Product Owner will assist in defining and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring that the team delivers high-quality products that meet customer needs and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Backlog Management:
Assist in the creation, refinement, and prioritization of the product backlog.
Ensure user stories and acceptance criteria are well-defined and understood by the development team.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories.
Sprint Planning and Execution:
Participate in Sprint Planning meetings to help define Sprint goals and backlog items.
Work closely with the Scrum Master and development team to ensure that stories are appropriately scoped and ready for implementation.
Track and communicate progress against Sprint goals.
Stakeholder Communication:
Act as a liaison between the development team and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of requirements and priorities.
Facilitate stakeholder feedback sessions and incorporate feedback into the product backlog.
Continuous Improvement:
Assist in conducting Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives, gathering feedback to improve processes and product quality.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and competitive products to identify opportunities for improvement.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of product features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders and management.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in a product management or related role, preferably within an Agile environment.
Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, including Scrum and Kanban.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
Experience with product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is a plus.
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Registered Scrum Product Owner (RSPO) certification is preferred.
