Grant Manager Job Description

Our Community Planning & Resilience division includes community planners, federal grants management experts, and software services providers who deliver a diverse suite of services and solutions in support of our clients. Our portfolio includes projects within urban planning, housing, economic development, community engagement, disaster recovery, mitigation, and grants management.
The Grant Manager role requires an individual with a background in Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs at the federal, state, or local level. The position will support projects funded through HUD grant programs, including CDBG, CDBG-DR, CDBG-MIT, CDBG-NDR, ESG, or HOME.
Primary Responsibilities
Support project and task management activities, including developing project work plans and managing the completion of work products.
Review and summarize federal regulations, including Federal Register Notices and HUD guidance.
Support monitoring engagements of federal grantees and their subrecipients for federal compliance.
Provide technical assistance to HUD grantees and their subrecipients.
Support the design and implementation of federally funded housing, economic development, infrastructure, planning, or public services programs.
Conduct research and analysis for clients, stakeholders, and the public.
Draft plans, reports, and assessments based on research and analysis.
Develop presentations of research and analysis for clients, stakeholders, and the public.
Support the development of client facing documents, such as policies and procedures, checklists, forms, and administrative guidance.
Conduct labor compliance reviews.
Draft documents, memos, letters, and other formal communications to clients.
Provide support in preparation for meetings, workshops, and presentations.
Capture and compile notes from internal meetings and meetings with clients.
Support Project Managers in the delivery of services to clients.
Required Skills and Experience Minimum of a bachelors degree and two years of experience working on one more of the following activities funded with CDBG, CDBG-DR, CDBG-MIT, CDBG-NDR, or HOME: disaster recovery, mitigation and resilience, community development, housing, economic development, infrastructure, planning, or public services.
Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and capable of retrieving, analyzing, and synthesizing data in a meaningful way.
Knowledge of federal grant program regulations.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organized and able to lead and manage multiple task assignments independently with limited oversight.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to accommodate client meetings in various time zones.
Preferred Skills and Experience Knowledge of best practices, lessons learned, and challenges for community development activity, project, and program design and development.
Experience conducting reviews or audits of grant and program documentation to determine compliance with applicable requirements.
Experience in development and implementation of HUD grant administrative requirements, such as financial management, procurement and contract management, and audits.
Understanding of federal cross-cutting requirements including Section 3, Davis Bacon, and section 508 compliance.
