Key Responsibilities
Automation Solutions: Deliver innovative automation solutions and design standards, either independently or as a team leader. Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery to meet customer requirements.
System Development: Develop control system architecture, select components, detail schematic diagrams and system documentation, program controllers (PLC, DCS/Delta V), and process visualization (HMI/SCADA).
Database Management: Develop databases for archiving and displaying historical system data, and implement/commission the control system at client facilities.
Programming: Utilize controller programming languages such as Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and standard programming languages like VBA, .NET, SQL, and Python.
Industrial Networking: Design, detail, and implement industrial networking solutions using protocols like Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus.
Project Management: Develop project execution plans, budgets, task prioritization and scheduling, time tracking, financial tracking, and oversee project operations up to $10M. Ensure overall project profitability.
Team Leadership: Act as technical lead on projects, guide lower-level engineers and technicians, and potentially serve as Project Manager on smaller projects.
Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in controls engineering with expertise in PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS/Delta V platforms.
Technical Proficiency:
In-depth understanding of Emerson DeltaV platform.
Experience in PLC-5 to ControlLogix conversions.
Proficiency in PLC hardware/software platforms (Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Modicon).
Proficiency in HMI/SCADA platforms (Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk, Aveva System Platform, Inductive Automation Ignition, GE iFIX, Siemens WinCC).
Understanding of DCS platforms (Emerson DeltaV).
Project Management: Experience managing projects with PMP certification preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in industries such as Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food and Beverage, Water Treatment, and general manufacturing.
Technical Skills: Design of electrical schematics, control panels, power distribution (under 480VAC), and familiarity with NEC references. Proficiency with AutoCAD is desired.
Leadership: Experience leading a team of engineers/technicians and mentoring less experienced engineers.
Professional References: Preferably one from a subordinate, a peer, or a manager.

Travel Requirement: Ability to travel up to 25%, mostly local to Dallas.
