About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP/SVP of Translational Medicine to join their innovative biotechnology team. The successful candidate will be a key leader, contributing to the vision, strategy, and general management of the company. This role is pivotal in the early development strategy, accountable for the execution of translational medicine, and involves close collaboration with the internal research team. Externally, the VP/SVP will engage with scientific and clinical opinion leaders, as well as business development representatives. The ideal candidate will have an MD or MD-PhD with a strong background in translational medicine, substantial industry drug development experience, and a proven track record in early-stage clinical development. Experience in immunology and inflammation is highly desirable, as is a deep understanding of regulatory pathways and biologics drug development.Key responsibilities for this position include clinical oversight of early clinical studies, setting and championing the vision and business strategy for early development, and leading the team to accomplish ambitious goals. The role requires a leader with strong scientific and strategic abilities, the capacity to inspire and motivate scientific teams, and a talent for fostering productive collaborations. The VP/SVP will be expected to have a broad skill set in early-stage development, with a focus on integrating discovery, development, and commercial considerations into strategies. The ability to lead in a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial culture and to engender innovation and change is essential.
