The 1stShift Warehouse Lead is responsible for directing, training, and coordinating the warehouse staff to meet company distribution goals while ensuring employee and product safety. This is a working lead position that requires strong attention to detail and a relentless focus on following established procedures. This position requires individuals having a strong drive and passion for success, and always putting the company's best interest first.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Train, develop, and monitor employees to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their specified job.

Ensure that employees are sufficiently cross-trained to provide back up for any position.

Perform tasks with a sense of urgency with a strong attention to detail.

Instruct and monitor employees to work in a safe manner, as per company safety guidelines, and monitor the execution of safety procedures.

Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring that the DC safety equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, etc) are in good working order at all times.

Maintain the DC in accordance with quality and cleanliness guidelines as set forth from Oberto, USDA, and pertinent third party auditing agencies.

Verify received shipments to ensure Oberto received the correct quantity of materials. Identify and document any damaged materials and refuse if necessary.

Prioritize distribution tasks and delegate to warehouse staff.

Direct employee activity to ensure the highest level of productivity and safety.

Monitor and direct the receiving process including receiving inbound freight, verify freight is complete and undamaged, materials are put away in locations in a timely manner, and that packaging and production picklists are picked accurately and in a timely manner. This includes distribution orders (DO's) and replenishment items sent over from Oberto's offsite warehouse.

Oversee the creation of pick-lists and the completion of cycle counts on a daily basis.

Evaluate needs for disciplinary actions and coordinate with warehouse supervisor and Human Resources department when necessary.

Determine and evaluate innovative methods of warehouse receiving and storage to improve quality, increase productivity and efficiency, and reduce costs through employee involvement. Promote and foster a culture on continuous improvement.

Communicate shift schedule requirements with all employees.

Troubleshoot problems as quickly and accurately as possible. Ensure the resolution of issues by communicating with DC Leadership and other concerned departments.

Provide timely, constructive, and continual performance feedback to all employees, both formally and informally.

Maintain appropriate communications with Customer Service, Purchasing, Scheduling, Production, and any other concerned departments through formal and informal means.

Maintain all DC documents completely and accurately, and verify receiving paperwork in a timely manner (real time).

Coordinate with DC Leadership team to arrange trans-DC shipments of product and supplies between sites, and verify quantities transferred are accurate.

Participate and help organize annual inventory counts by being available for counting, verifying, and researching inventory issues as required.

Monitor facilities, refrigerated trailers, and other equipment and communicate issues with Distribution leadership in a timely manner.

Coordinate with Distribution Leadership on labor planning and other support functions to ensure that company goals are met.

Complete warehouse capacity reports and look for opportunities to maximize existing warehouse capacity.

SCHEDULE: Position is1stshift, 8hours/shift with overtime required during peak summer/fall production.

Q UALIFICATIONS:

English competency

Background in food science or related science area preferred

2-4 years experience in Warehouse environment.

Excellent organization and prioritizing skills.

Computer proficiency - MS Excel and Word, database, ERP/MRP/WMS.

Ability to work cooperatively with others as well as independently.

Experience in safe operation or forklift, reach truck and other warehouse pallet moving equipment.
