Position Description :

Defines architecture and design patterns for the integration of technical and data services into application architecture using Java/J2EE technologies and Power Platform. Develops and implements Azure Cloud Services, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Technologies, and Agile methodologies. Sets up Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) to deliver system automation. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Creates high-level designs for select common technical and information services to guide implementation.

Builds and communicates technical strategies and roadmaps to implement target states.

Participates in architecture design teams.

Defines and implements application-level architecture.

Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience :

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting scalable, high-volume computer platforms and software applications using Mainframe and Java/J2EE technologies.

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting scalable, high-volume computer platforms and software applications using Mainframe and Java/J2EE technologies.

Skills and Knowledge :

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) performing Server-side development using Java8 functional programming solutions (Lamdba and Streams, Spring Framework, and JavaScript Object Notation); and building web applications, built User Interfaces (UIs) for web application, and designing cloud-enabled code.

DE performing DB server-side data retrieval -- defining and developing Oracle DB objects, normalized tables, user defined functions, views, and triggers -- using Oracle PL/SQL and Stored Procedures.

DE performing Unit and Integration Testing of UI and Java/J2EE layer in applications using Junit framework and configuring Jenkins for CI/CD deployment.

DE performing application development using Microsoft PowerApps s low code technologies --Canvas application, Model driven application, Power automate flows, and Azure power functions.
