The Role
We are seeking a full-time Engineer for the New York City office, hybrid work opportunities possible. You'll be supporting and creating technology that runs all of our systems. This includes but isn't limited to our user facing sites, CMS, data pipelines, databases and miscellaneous microservices. If you are an independent self-starter that wants to contribute a meaningful amount to a small team this role will be a great fit for you.
Responsibilities
Work on an agile cross-functional team that encompasses a few different products (Standups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives etc..)
Create, maintain, and iterate on our CI/CD processes for new and existing services
Architect and develop highly-scalable applications and APIs
Secure our applications and environments against the latest threats and vulnerabilities
Work closely with the product, data, other engineering teams to develop new features and support existing ones
Help our services perform at their best with a focus on high availability and efficiency
Have a comprehensive understanding of the applications & architecture at Gallery Media Group and how it allows a modern digital media publication to run
Desired Skills & Qualifications Ideally 2-3 years experience in web based engineering across devops, backend and frontend technologies
Independent and practical mindset. Being the main contributor on a project doesn't phase you
Ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with the digital media industry and current trends
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Bonus: An interest or past experience working in adjacent domain expertise. (Data, Backend, Frontend, Devops, Mobile etc..)
Bonus: Good working knowledge of modern infrastructure built on containers and clusters
