Software Developer

Summary:

We are looking for a focused Software Developer to work under the supervision of the Director of the Center for Innovation to help execute a variety of software development projects with an open mind and receptivity to trying something new. The primary function of this role is to implement new features, maintain existing code, refactor existing code, test and deploy software as well provide technical and administrative support for related solutions. Imagination is just as important as knowledge itself.

Education Requirement :

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience in computer science, information systems or related field.

Experience Requirement:

Two (2) years of direct work experience in Information System/ Technology or equivalent experience in a related field.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Designs, develops, maintains, and supports web and mobile applications based on functional and system requirements. Meets work demands and complete activities within established timeframes.

Works with users to define and communicate specifications, changes, and problems. Investigates and analyzes requests for changes and/or enhancements in a timely manner.

Collaborates with team members to determine design methodologies, tool sets, languages, and software products used to complete programming.

Designs and develops graphical user interfaces for web and mobile applications

Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems and information servers.

Implements security measures and uses software security best practices to protect sensitive information.

Completes application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, activities, installation, and upgrades of assigned systems/services.

Troubleshoots development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms; notifies and assists staff to resolve issues.

Keeps management informed of any issues/concerns which may require intervention.

Demonstrates knowledge and skills to define and communicate system specifications, modifications/changes; supports users by developing documentation, policies, procedures, and assistance tools.

Works closely with team members to understand the functional and system requirements; breaks down requirements and estimate development efforts.

Participate in daily scrum meetings.

Participate in sprint planning and user acceptances sessions.

Works closely with team members to ensure quality and punctual software development within his/her responsibilities.

Maintains confidentiality in matters relating to department and hospital information. Adheres to established department and organization policies (i.e. HIPAA, Confidentiality and Compliance Policies).

Participates in performance improvement activities which include committees, monitoring and follow-up, and completes required continuous training and education. Participate in emergency and disaster drills as required.

Maintains knowledge of best practices, current trends and developments in the field, new internet/intranet technologies and software products, professional credentials and required education, as well as a current knowledge of IT infrastructure principles, concepts and techniques.

Attends and actively participates in meetings, conferences and seminars for the purpose of enhancing professional skills and sharing information on recent developments in IT systems and services.

Responds to problems/opportunities to improve systems/services.

Provides research and assistance for special projects.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrated computer skills to work with various applications with a thorough knowledge of coding required in maintaining web and mobile applications, including C#, Swift, React, JavaScript with working knowledge in the MVC Framework and REST api architecture. Familiarity of the Net framework 4.5 and greater. Working knowledge of MS SQL server and T-SQL. Demonstrable knowledge of object-oriented programming. Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple independent projects simultaneously.

Demonstrated skills and ability to develop, present, implement and maintain activities within assigned software development services.

Ability to perform complex, detailed design and analytical tasks; ability to organize and implement work assignments independently of direct supervision; ability to exercise complex analytical judgment on work to be done; ability to perform under stress and in emergency situations; ability to work well with others and demonstrate flexibility in relating to others.

Knowledge or experience with technology development and project management tools is preferred.

Knowledge or experience with Agile Framework and Designed Thinking.

Assumes responsibility and ownership of their work.

Good writing, organizational, and planning skills.

Comfortable and can excel in environments of constant change.

Physical Demands/Conditions:

The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
