About the Role
The Company is in search of a visionary Vice President, Clinical Development with a strong focus on rare diseases and cardiology. The successful candidate will be a key leader in the R&D team, responsible for the full oversight of clinical development within the cardiovascular portfolio. This includes providing strategic leadership, supervising and mentoring staff, and driving the execution of clinical trials to advance the pipeline of novel therapies. The role demands a strategic partner to shape operational standards, determine clinical strategy, and ensure the successful approval and registration of programs. The ideal candidate will have a medical degree, a minimum of 10 years' experience in clinical development within the biopharmaceutical industry, and a proven track record in leading clinical programs, particularly in rare and genetic cardiomyopathies. The Vice President will be expected to have a deep understanding of clinical trial design, execution, and regulatory requirements in the cardiovascular and rare disease therapeutic areas. They should be adept at building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including opinion leaders, investigators, and clinical research organizations. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and motivating cross-functional teams. The candidate should be a self-starter, with a hands-on approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Responsibilities also include supporting the development of regulatory strategies, creating and implementing successful therapeutic area strategies, and staying abreast of advancements in cardiology and cardiovascular medicine to provide valuable insights.
