A well-run rebuilding project requires a lot of planning and skill behind the scenes to ensure that clients, volunteers, and others come together to have an impactful, uplifting project day. The AmeriCorps Project Coordinator manages rebuilding projects from start to finish, beginning with the initial visit to assess the client's home repair needs, through the completion of the workscope and final project evaluation. They will coordinate with clients, skilled volunteers, community partners, vendors, inspectors, and staff to develop and implement sustainable and effective project logistics practices. The AmeriCorps Project Coordinator will support technicians in preparation for Safe-at-Home projects and build skills to lead a project on Rebuilding Day. The AmeriCorps Project Coordinator will help expand the Building a Healthy Neighborhood program, building rapport and trust in underserved communities to identify and address the community's concerns to improve the quality of life for the neighborhood. The AmeriCorps Program Coordinator is involved in all aspects of our organization and work as part of our team to increase our capacity, efficiency, and quality of services. This position is a great opportunity for someone who likes every day to be different and seeks experience in nonprofit project coordination.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Coordinate communication between clients, staff, House Captains, and contractors such that all parties are on the same page about work scope, timeline/timing of project elements, and expectations.

Meet with clients to complete home assessments, develop a work scope and materials list, and collaborate with other team members to develop a project timeline (especially if coordination with volunteers or contractors is required).

Arrange purchase and delivery of crucial project needs for Build Projects. Maintain a system for warehouse inventory to allow bulk purchasing, the reuse or repurposing of tools/materials, and an efficient supply chain. Ensure routine maintenance of Rebuilding Together-owned tools between projects.

Support technicians with the preparation and execution of Safe-at-Home projects including tools and materials, personal protective equipment, dumpsters and other rented items, water and snacks.

Provide support with hands-on repairs, including but not limited to: rough/trim carpentry, tile work, grab bar installation, wheel chair ramp/safe entry/egress repairs, interior/exterior painting, and weatherization. Prior skill is not necessary and AmeriCorps members will be trained.

Train to become a House Captain leader to support volunteer groups in completing direct hands-on repairs. Ensure that volunteers are trained in their task and have access to tools/materials, that proper safety procedures are being followed, that the work product is of good quality, and that volunteers enjoyed and feel appreciated for their service.

Support in the recruitment of House Captains to provide on-site leadership of volunteers completing direct hands-on repairs and other skilled-trades volunteers to complete skilled repairs and modifications.

Upon completion of the project, survey clients to measure short- and long-term outcomes and overall client satisfaction. Support the expansion of the Building a Healthy Neighborhood program. Build rapport and trust in underserved communities to identify and address the community's concerns to improve the quality of life for the neighborhood.

Requirements

Required

Comfort with speaking and presenting in front of large groupsexperience training or teaching adults/volunteers is a plus

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and use of internet

Ability to function in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where each team member must balance being organized and detail-orientated with being flexible and keeping up with changing scopes of project work

Ability to communicate in clear and encouraging language with a diverse community and staff-in writing, in person, and over the phone

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree or relevant life/work experience

Experience with database, inventory, and barcoding systems or willingness to learn

Solid interpersonal skills and ability to make connections and build relationships with volunteers

Ability to work with diverse clients, volunteers, and staff to create a friendly, helpful atmosphere

Volunteer service experience; managing or coordinating other volunteers is a plus

Benefits

Living allowance over all 11-month terms of service:

Full-time 40hrs/wk (1700hr term) - $23,500/term

Part-time 20hrs/wk (900hr term) - $12,441/term

Quarter-time 12hrs/wk (450hr term) - $6,221/term

Additional Monthly High Cost of Living Stipend:

First Year Member - $1000/month to cover high, local living expenses

Second Year+ Member - $1100/month to cover high, local living expenses

Additional one-time payment for second year+ members of any AmeriCorps program:

Full-time 40hrs/wk (1700hr term) - $600

Part-time 20hrs/wk (900hr term) - $300

Quarter-time 12hrs/wk (450hr term) - $150

Eligible for a relocation reimbursement of up to $300 for qualifying expenses.

Travel to one optional in-person Rebuilding Together event with other AmeriCorps members (Details TBD).

Health insurance including dental and vision plans (only available to full-time 1700hr members).

Professional development benefit of $800/member provided by RT National.

Mental Health benefit provided by RT National (covers 6 visits with a mental health professional OR 6 months of an online/tele-service subscription).

Education Award for qualifying education expenses or loans, upon completion of the term of service:

Full-time 40hrs/wk (1700hr term) - $7,395

Part-time 20hrs/wk (900hr term) - $3,697.50

Quarter-time 12hrs/wk (450hr term) - $1,956.35

Federal student loan forbearance and interest accrual payment.

Positions are eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
