Compensation: $100k to $110k salary range with additional consideration for highly qualified candidates

Join our team as the Director of Strategic Gifts and lead our organization's major gift strategy across various sectors including foundation, family foundations, and individual giving. Primary Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, guidance, and strategy for major and leadership gifts inclusive of individual giving, foundations, and corporate and family foundations.
Provide constructive coaching and guidance to a high-achieving team of professionals to ensure personal and organizational success, including Major Gifts Manager, Grants Manager, Prospect Analyst and Researcher, and Major Gifts Coordinator.
Identify, cultivate, and solicit major and leadership gifts from foundations and individuals for annual and capital campaign support.
Ensure cohesion on strategy with the major gifts, corporate gifts, and foundations teams for a successful capital campaign.
Develop benchmarks and provide direction, accountability, and insight into a robust moves management system to track goals and progress.
Work collaboratively across philanthropic teams to ensure seamless execution of major gifts and campaign initiatives (including stewardship, cultivation, and cultivation events) that build the donor pipeline.
Work strategically across the organization to ensure that programmatic and operational goals are represented in donor proposals and solicitations.
Develop strong relationships with foundation and individual donors to build long-term commitment and support.
Track the progress of solicitations and ensure that proper records and documentation are implemented across the team.
Demonstrate program expertise and clear leadership with the ability to manage both programs and team members, articulating concise deliverables and adapting to the evolving needs of both.
Identify, benchmark, track, and utilize meaningful metrics to assess and improve donor retention, solicitations, and stewardship and achieve goals.
Develop and fine-tune systems to ensure donor stewardship, deliverables, recognition, and expectations are fulfilled for individual gifts and grants.
Create revenue and expense budgets and ensure team is on target for both.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven ability to cultivate and solicit leadership and major gifts of $100,000 or more in a campaign environment.
Demonstrated personal leadership coupled with strong team orientation, exemplary project management skills and a high customer service focus;
Ability to build highly collaborative partnerships with Food Bank of the Rockies staff, Board, community, and potential funders;
Experience in managing, coaching, and effectively growing individual and team performance;
Strong communication skills that are effective across a variety of constituencies;
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, able to multi-task multiple assignments
Commitment to fulfilling the Food Bank of the Rockies mission and positively representing the brand both internally and externally
Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-through skills
Self-directed and results-oriented
Exercise independent judgment, think critically and strategically, collaborate with others, and follow through to execute projects and program requirements

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
Ten (10) years or more of direct fundraising experience, with an emphasis on major and foundation gifts. Capital campaign experience preferred
Five (5) or more years of department leadership experience
Experience in Raisers Edge highly preferred, and at least five years of experience working with donor databases expected
Comfort leading projects, setting priorities for a team, thinking creatively, and working as both a collaborative team member and leader
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote) and project management tools (e.g. Asana)
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, exempt position with a flexible work schedule; remote work is available. Work schedules may vary each week and may consist of weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays.
