Marketing Director / Leadership - Half Day Fridays

We’re a small business and we’re looking to level up our marketing department. To put it simply, my leadership team and I are looking for two things:
First, someone who is great at marketing! I know, not a surprising statement considering the job post. But, a lot of people do marketing…but we’re looking for someone who has the confidence and experience to be in charge of an entire marketing department.
Second, as the Marketing Manager/Director, you will be on the leadership team with us. So, we’re looking for someone who makes our leadership team stronger and will contribute to the overall growth and direction of the company.
Requirements When it comes to experience, recent college grads will NOT be considered. I’m sorry about that, but that’s just not we need in this role. The experience we need includes:
Generating leads through channels such as Digital Ads, In-person and Digital Events, Email Marketing, and more.
Managing a team. We have a great team of writers and coordinators in place to help you execute your marketing plan.
Building a marketing plan and managing the budget from scratch, incorporating both lead generation and nurturing activities to reach your KPI.
Ultimately you will be in charge of choosing what marketing we do, the strategy on how we execute it, and the decision on how to allocate the marketing budget. I could go on and make this an even longer job post (thanks for still reading, by the way!), but to be honest what this job is about is simple: generating leads, maximizing ROI, and leading an effective marketing team. Here is a list of the skills and tasks for the role:
- Experience Building/Managing a Marketing Plan: Manage the marketing plan and decide what marketing campaigns are done, and when.
- Knowledge of Projections: Know how to project results and have the experience to identify opportunities and adjustments in real time.
- Creativity: The ability to easily come up with ideas for more marketing or to pivot if something isn’t working.
- Research: Stay current with marketing trends and find new marketing opportunities.
- Funnels & Nurturing: Build, manage, and optimize the funnels leads go through when becoming a lead, as well as the nurturing campaigns thereafter.
- Naturally Organized: Make sure you and your team has a good strategy and the proper tools, systems, checklists, software, etc to succeed.

For clarification, while we are a content marketing company, you will be overseeing our internal marketing department. Our Operations team handles our clients and delivers the services. This position is on our internal marketing side, helping us grow our own marketing and client acquisition. In other words, you’re marketing a marketing company!
Pay, Hours, etc:
This is a salaried position ranging from $65,000-$75,000 based on experience. Our office is located in the South End area of Charlotte. We offer flex arrival and departure times Monday through Thursday. This is NOT a fully remote position.
Additionally , we offer work from home, half-day Fridays and unlimited PTO. Healthcare, vision, and dental insurance are also available.
