Summary:

The Council for European Studies (www.councilforeuropeanstudies.org) invites applications for Executive Director.The Executive Director will lead and oversee all administrative aspects of the Council for European Studies (CES), a center housed at Temple University's College of Liberal Arts.The incumbent will be the face of the Council, working with the CES Executive Committee to give proper strategic direction and implement a high-quality vision.The Executive Director is responsible to the CES Executive Committee for approvals for the annual budget and major initiatives.

CES is a membership-driven scholarly organization with 1,500 individuals and 40 institutional members whose mission is to promote and disseminate interdisciplinary research on European politics, society, history, and culture. Since its founding in 1970, the Council has pursued this mission through a range of programs, including scholarships, fellowships, and awards; career development initiatives; print and online publications, including EuropeNow (www.europenowjournal.org ); and its flagship annual conference, the International Conference of Europeanists.Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and at least six years of related experience.Must be computer literate in Windows operating environment including Microsoft Office programs and related equipment (database, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and word-processing software, monitor, keyboard, etc.)
