About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Global Tax to lead their tax team in all corporate tax efforts. This critical role involves overseeing global tax compliance, planning, structuring, and reporting, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial health and compliance with laws and regulations. The successful candidate will be a key advisor to the CFO, manage a team, and be responsible for a range of activities including tax guidance for growth strategy, complex issue analysis, and quarterly updates to the Audit Committee. The role also includes overseeing income and indirect tax functions, remaining current on global tax developments, and partnering on M&A activities. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of global corporate tax experience, a degree in accounting or finance, and a CPA or equivalent license. Strong communication skills, industry experience in global e-commerce, and a proven track record of leadership and relationship building are essential.Candidates for the Vice President, Global Tax role at the company should have a background that includes in-depth knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting, experience with global supply chain operations, and a history of public company leadership. The role requires an action-oriented leader with outstanding business acumen, a commitment to excellence, and a talent for developing others. While not mandatory, experience with marketplace companies or physical goods retail, a mix of public accounting and private company experience, and direct engagement with tech/engineering teams are considered advantageous. The ideal candidate will also have experience with tax authority audits and projects such as implementing new ERP systems. A remote work arrangement is possible, but a preference is stated for candidates in Detroit, MI, or the Bay Area, CA.
