About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Tax to join their global investment team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all strategic tax planning, preparation and review of tax provisions, and tax information reporting for the firm's public credit funds which are regulated investment companies. This includes overseeing compliance with RIC qualification tests, determining taxable income, and ensuring proper accounting for transactions in the portfolio. The role also involves liaising with accounting teams and tax advisors, managing the preparation of tax returns, and responding to tax authorities' notices. The VP of Tax will work closely with various internal teams and external partners to maintain the quality of internal tax operations and regulatory tax filings.Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (CPA preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of experience in corporation, partnership, and RIC tax. A combination of public accounting and in-house experience with an investment firm is highly desirable. The role requires expertise in state and international tax filing requirements, inbound and outbound investment activities, and the ability to support innovative processes in a dynamic business environment. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, tax research, and excellent communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be a team player with the ability to operate independently, organize multiple tasks, and manage assignments under tight deadlines.
