Key Responsibilities:
Leads a team of DBA’s in the designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise standard databases based on business area requirements
Drives the identification, definition, and implementation of database backup/recovery and security strategies
Install and support DBNS (Database Management Systems) software and tools
Responsible for various database activities, which include monitoring, tuning, capacity, troubleshooting, and consulting
Translate a logical data model or user specifications into a physical design
Ensure detailed physical design of data structures and database compiles with enterprise standards, guidelines, procedures, and processes
Create physical database structures based on physical design for development, test, and production environments
Coordinate with systems engineers to configure servers for DBMS product installation and database creation
Install, configure, and maintain DBMS product software on database and application servers
Assist in the consultation to application development teams on DBMS product technical issues and techniques
Provide on-site, and on-call 7x24x365 support, as needed
Implement monitoring procedures to maximize availability and performance of the database, while meeting defined SLA's
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database problems
Communicate the required downtime with the application development teams and systems engineers to implement approved changes
Keep abreast of industry and technology trends
Responsible to provide leadership in multiple independent efforts to design, implement, and support, enterprise standard databases on business area requirements with appropriate supervision as required
Lead in Identifying, defining and implementing database backup / recovery and security strategies
Coordinate and lead in the Installation and support of multiple DBMS (Database Management Systems) software and tools projects
Oversees and sets DBMS platform performance and availability improvements measures based on metric analysis
Duties may include leading highly complex capacity planning, workload modeling, system maintenance/ administration, and diagnostics
Monitor industry trends and anticipates future direction for system platforms

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
BS/BA, preferably in Information Technology or Business or equivalent experience, education, or training
10+ years applicable experience in the design/administration/ support of one or more DBMS platforms; or 5+ years equivalent in depth experience in the design, administration, implementation, and support of a database
The ideal candidate will have the experience in the above related areas, in addition to experience with 4 or more of the following: systems software networking tools, application development, multidimensional tools, knowledge of relational databases, logical modeling, object modeling and data warehousing
