Job Summary
As Senior Legal Counsel, the candidate will be responsible for leading transactions, project management, identifying advantageous regulatory structures and working collaboratively with stakeholders across all departments. A successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, interacting with senior level management and providing support for the day-to-day guidance and legal advice for all aspects of the business.

Job Responsibilities
Draft, negotiate, and review financial technology services agreements and complex commercial transactions
Serve as subject matter expert and trusted legal advisor to all departments to assure compliance with applicable laws, regulation and contract terms
Establish successful working relationships and foster collaboration amongst teams, such as Sales, Product, Operations, and Finance, to achieve organization-wide goals and strategic initiatives
Leverage expert knowledge of financial services regulations, privacy and data security
Provide legal support in corporate structuring and mergers and acquisitions
Provide advice, education, and legal direction to internal stakeholders, distilling complex legal issues into helpful frameworks or reference guides
As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk
Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school
Member in good standing of a state bar
Excellent drafting, analytical and project management skills
Proven ability to understand business needs and requirements
Ability to effectively engage and communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior executive levels
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of legal experience in Fintech SaaS contract drafting and negotiation
Experience in the areas of data security, privacy regulation, RIA/BD/ERISA regulation or financial services experience a plus.
Mature judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

Salary
The annual base salary range for this position is $148,000 to $222,000.
