Johnson & Johnson ( J&J ) Innovative Medicines in Israel seeks to employ a highly qualified and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to provide legal support to the pharmaceutical business of J&J in Israel.

The Senior Counsel will be required to anticipate and manage legal risk and advance business objectives while protecting the company's interests and reputation.

Senior Legal Counsel will play a pivotal role and have primary responsibility for providing legal support and guidance to the Israeli local operating company, J-C Health Care Ltd ( J&J IM Israel ).

The Senior Legal Counsel will have the opportunity to advise on a broad variety of complex and sophisticated legal matters as well as gaining exposure to all aspects of the Israelian commercial operations. S/he will be a member of the local Leadership Team ( Local LT ).

The successful candidate will be a member of the J&J Global Legal Organization ( GLO ). S/he will be reporting to the Senior Legal Director Mid- Sized - Markets ( MSM ).

Besides supporting IM Israel, s/he will work in "virtual" teams and cross-functional working groups, forging relationships with business colleagues and other J&J GLO team members in the region and globally. S/he will have frequent contact with the broader EMEA legal team.

The Senior Legal Counsel will be based in Israel, Kibbutz Shefayim, prepared to travel locally when required, including attending to occasional travel abroad.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Providing experienced legal advisory services to J&J IM Israel and handling company secretarial/corporate governance and business compliance.

Being an active member and providing strategic counsel to the Local LT

Providing strategic corporate counsel and efficient prevention or resolution of all legal issues relating to a wide range of legal fields, including corporate law, regulatory compliance, corporate and commercial transactions, special projects, contractual drafting and interpretation, trade law, employment, advertising, IP, and competition law.

In Particularly

Draft, review, vet and negotiate a variety of contracts with third parties, ensuring alignment with policies and applicable laws.

Assess legal and commercial implications of contracts and advise on any risks that must be addressed and ensure effective management of legal and contractual risks.

Deployment of policies and procedures that are aligned with business strategic imperatives.

Lead and co-ordinate various company activities and ensure compliance with company standards and corporate governance.

Providing advice on labor relations, employee contracts and other employment related documentation (in cooperation with Employment/Labor relation group).

Advising on compliance with international anti-corruption regulation, in particular FCPA legislation, acting as the legal "touch-point" for these matters.

Collaborate with internal partners to assess legal risks and develop strategies to minimize them and resolve disputes efficiently.

Regularly interact with the Health Care Compliance (HCC) department and provide guidance on HCC contracts and related matters.

Providing legal support to functional departments, such as Market Access, Medical, Regulatory, Quality, PV.

Coordinate and run dispute resolution and litigations (working closely with external counsel as necessary).

Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations affecting J&J 's operations and develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal requirements.

Conduct training sessions for employees on legal matters and compliance issues.

Successfully collaborate with and coordinate external legal counsels.

Actively participate in the external environment, supporting the company in the key initiatives and discussion with the partners and institutions including access negotiations with payers and other relevant stakeholders.

Providing counsel on privacy related matters.

Qualifications

Law Degree from a reputable institution obtained with excellent results, supplementary degree or LLM abroad is considered as an asset.

Bar Admitted Attorney in Israel, with 7-10 years post-qualification experience.

Excellent written and oral skills in both Hebrew and English, any further language will be considered as an asset.

Ability to provide support as in-house counsel in a sophisticated and sizeable organization and/ or as attorney in a law firm, where the candidate was used to being directly exposed to local and international clients.

Knowledge and experience of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Ability to be self-motivated, to work autonomously and effectively partner with various business partners and functions across all levels of the organization -effective time and management skills are important.

Ability to deal well with ambiguity and demonstrate strong organizational, process and interpersonal skills (including a high degree of emotional intelligence and an ability to influence outcomes in a productive manner as necessary).

Strong technical legal ability and highly organized and detail oriented.

Experience in the healthcare industry (preferably pharmaceutical sector) is considered as an asset.

Litigation experience is preferable but not crucial.
